STEVE RIVAS JOINS AFFL YOUTH AS NATIONAL REFEREE DIRECTOR

We are thrilled to announce that Steve Rivas is joining the American Flag Football League (AFFL) Youth Division as the National Referee Director. Steve brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the game to this pivotal role.

In his new capacity, Steve will be spearheading the training and development of referees across the nation. His primary focus will be to ensure that all AFFL Youth referees are thoroughly educated in the AFFL Youth Rules, guaranteeing that operators, coaches, parents, and players enjoy the highest quality experience at all AFFL Youth Events.

Steve's extensive experience includes over 20 years as the Director of Operations for one of Chicago's premier Touch and Flag Football Leagues, where he was instrumental in transitioning the league to flag football and introducing referees to games. His role as a Tournament Director for both state and local tournaments, coupled with his deep understanding of the game as a player, coach, and official, brings an unparalleled depth of knowledge to the AFFL Youth.

As a Certified NFL Youth Flag Head Referee, Steve has officiated at local, regional, and Pro Bowl Youth Tournaments and Championships for 7 years, including prestigious events at the Walter Payton Center at Halas Hall and the NFL Pro Bowl Youth Championships in Las Vegas and Orlando. His commitment to professionalism, respect for players and the game, and pride in officiating set a high standard for excellence.

Under Steve's guidance, these meticulously trained referees will be available to officiate at Youth Tournaments and leagues, further elevating the standard of play and officiating across the board. Steve's commitment to excellence and his passion for the game is set to bring a new level of professionalism and expertise to our events.
